Dedicate your time. Donate when possible. Give 110% to your customers and your community at all times. Oh, and don’t forget to be a dedicated parent of three while running a successful woman-owned business while you’re at it.

That’s what my incredible client, Owner/Agent Nancy Leavitt of American Family Insurance, does every day, year in and year out.

In her hometown newspaper, The Lynden Tribune, she was celebrated as a Standout Citizen. And she so deserves it. As a woman, she is a minority in the insurance business. But that isn’t on her radar. She chose this business because of her drive and aptitude to protect and advise her clients over the past 15 years.

Quotes for Community Gives Back

While supporting her clients through the unpredictable blips of life, she widens her gaze and supports local charities through her American Family Insurance office. Her monthly Quotes for Community Campaign allows her to raise funds for local charities like Animals and Natural Therapy through her work. Those funds are matched by American Family Insurance corporate offices as well.

You can read more about this incredible business in each of these publications:

The policies she’s issued and the claims she’s helped process over the years have improved the lives of thousands of citizens in our area. Nancy also donates her precious time to do amazing work. She has served as charity committee chair for Whatcom Women in Business while mentoring and learning from other female business owners.

Her ability to reach further, be there for her community and family, and do good for others is truly inspiring to us all. A big congratulations to Nancy and the hard work she and her staff do for their community every day.
